Staff and Partners at a leading accountancy firm counted down the years for one member of staff, who celebrated 25 years of continuous service.
Cathy Rowe, a secretary and PA at Wilkins Kennedy’s Heathrow office, started working at the firm on Friday 3rd June 1991 as part of the admin team before progressing in to a role as Insolvency secretary. She began her PA role in 2013 working alongside Wilkins Kennedy’s senior Partners, Keith Stevens and Louise Brittain.

At the time Cathy started her role with Wilkins Kennedy, a litre of petrol was just 68p, average price of a pint was £1.07 and emails were next to non-existent – although a basic mobile phone would cost around £400!

Exactly 25 years later, Wilkins Kennedy marked the occasion with a surprise lunch for Cathy, where she was presented with a certificate and glass trophy as a mark of thanks for her service to the firm. Cathy commented:

“When I first started, I was given a typewriter and a telephone – the internet and remote working was way off in to the future and certainly a lot has changed over 25 years! Wilkins Kennedy has been a great place to work and I am proud to have been here for so long – here’s to more years at such a great firm!”

Kevin Walmsley, Managing Partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Heathrow office, said:

“As a firm we have a high retention rate, but in our office particularly we find that lots of our staff stay with us for a long time. Cathy has been an excellent asset to the team here and on behalf of the staff and Partners, I’d like to wish her all the very best for the future.”
