On Thursday morning, 35 guests attended the Runnymede-on-Thames hotel for a seminar designed to help law firms keep up to date with regulatory and tax changes, and improve the commercial performance of their businesses.
The seminar was hosted by accountants, Wilkins Kennedy, which offers a specialist service for solicitors, WK Law, which acts for more than 40 law firms in the region. Now in its 6th year, the series of seminars has accommodated almost 600 delegates, with the morning’s event emerging as one of the “best yet” in terms of attendance and presentation topics.
Wilkins Kennedy’s Heathrow office founded the WK Law seminar programme in 2010, where it started life at Foxhills Club and Resort in Ottershaw. Due to the growth in popularity, it re-located to Runnymede in June 2015, but the seminars have been run at a number of different localities – including one in Guildford which was launched for the first time at the end of April.
The wide-ranging topics that were presented by Wilkins Kennedy staff and Partners captivated audiences and was the most attended WK Law seminar of the year to date.
The three speakers included Tommy White, Partner at Wilkins Kennedy Heathrow and head of the WK Law team, who covered the SRA and Accounts Rules update. Tommy was followed by Tax Director, Jemima Jones who delivered a Budget update before the presentation was rounded off by Louise Brittain, Contentious Insolvency Partner, who focussed on the cost of fraud and how businesses can recover the proceeds.
Tommy White commented: “We were pleased to welcome a room full of people for our second WK Law Heathrow event of 2016, which has been our best yet in terms of numbers and on positive feedback given by the guests. Many are returning attendees but we also saw some new faces as well – and there is certainly room for plenty more!”
The next Heathrow WK Law event is expected to be held at the Runnymede hotel in the autumn. All events can be found on the Wilkins Kennedy website www.wilkinskennedy.com
